Screening programmes for the prevention of cervical cancer and breast cancer
The Region of Emilia Romagna and the two province hospitals promote two screening programmes for the prevention of cervical and breast cancer in the province of Reggio Emilia.
Their aim is to diagnose (and cure) cancer when it is still at an early stage by means of two tests that are simple to carry out and are free of charge: Mammograms and Pap Tests.
The decision to promote the screening programmes is based on the findings of the international scientific community, with routine testing of women in age groups with the highest risk of cancer and the highest potential for early diagnosis and more effective care.
